Details for a user are loading slow

Hello,

Until now, when a new user registered, I would see their account. When I click on them, it loads instantaneously.

But 2 days ago a new user registered. When logged in as admin, clicking on their name will take very much to load (~5 seconds, maybe more). Clicking on other users is instantaneous.

Might this be a security problem with my forum? Or maybe SMF spends much time trying to obtain the host name? (which sometimes is empty, sometimes is his IP - but this happens also with other nonproblematic users.)

If I visit my forum unlogged in (Firefox private session), the problem is not met, I can load this user's info in an instant (but of course not all the details are visible).

If it's only them, I'd start by looking at their avatar and signature - Are they loading external content that is slow to come up?
If not, try turning off hostname lookups. Hostname lookups may cause slowdowns like this.

This user has no avatar and no signature. I think also no external contents.

If you say that hostname lookups may cause slowdowns, then this must be it. I will try to disable it for a bit, check, and reenable it. But could you please tell me where can I turn off hostname lookups?

It's a setting called "Disable hostname lookups", try searching for hostname in the admin panel search. I'm on my phone currently, and don't remember exact steps to get to it

Found it, Aleksi, and this is the problem. I will keep hostnames lookups active, because they are useful.
