Hello everyone! I haven't posted in 6 or 7 years or so, but still running the best forum software.

I've been thinking of upgrading to 2.1 but unfortunately it isn't going smoothly,  might be something dumb but it's hanging at this step:

Overall Progress
44%
Step Progress
61%
0%
Time Elapsed: 0 mins, 43 seconds.
Database Changes
Executing database changes
Please be patient - this may take some time on large forums. The time elapsed increments from the server to show progress is being made.
Executing upgrade script 2 of 2.
Executing: "Adding support for alerts" (15 of 71 - of this script)

If you go back to the main page, PHP still works, but it says this:

Thank you for choosing to upgrade to SMF 2.1.4. All files appear to be in place and the upgrade can now proceed.
Warning!

"Kitster" is running the upgrade script.

The upgrade script has been running for the last 8 minutes and 8 seconds.

The upgrade script was last updated 7 minutes and 25 seconds ago.

We recommend that you do not run this script unless you are sure that KittoniuM has completed their upgrade.

You can choose to either run the upgrade again from the beginning or continue from the last step reached during the most recent upgrade.

Is there any other way I can just setup a fully new 2.1 install - and then have some kind of import old db script do the job?

EDIT: "click here to try again" does nothing but hang forum

Time Elapsed: 0 mins, 43 seconds. I would just get some coffee and let it do it's thing until it advances or actually fails, or atleast for like 15 minutes. It seems like it is running. The 30 second notice is not an error.

That's what upgrade.php does, it updates 2.0 database to make it compatible with 2.1.  A 2.0 database will not work in 2.1.

One of my forums took several hours to complete the upgrade ...  its a pretty large forum, which has existed since Yabb days, so the time is expected

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

Was forum language set to english before you started upgrade?  Have you tried restarting upgrade from beginning?

The language error'd out, even though I only have english.. I just pressed SKIP error to get to this part.

Yes I've tried restarting.

You can try running Table Maintenance on all tables in phpmyadmin, but don't think that will help.  A 70mb database should upgrade in a few minutes.  Php version? Logging any server errors?
