Temu spammers

Must be the holiday season, but every day spammers are slipping in and posting Temu ads. I'm running stopforumspam.com which isn't catching them (they're not in the database), and I have reCAPTCHA enabled, so they're not bots. The profile fields look normal (I have custom entries), so they are definitely human.

So, my question is simple. Is there any way to flag a new member as a spammer if they make a post with certain keywords, such as temu.com or temu?

Fortunately, my users are quick to report the spammers and we delete them immediately (after adding them to stopforumspam.com).

Not out of the box, but this might work Spam protection, AntiSpam, FireWall by CleanTalk (no Captcha/reCaptcha)
I believe it relies on a 3rd party connection, and I have no personal experience with it, so I can't really say if it's good or not in general.

How you can help SMF

reCAPTCHA is not perfect about catching bots....  they are constantly finding ways to get around it.

Your best line of defense is actually a core feature ---  Questions.

20-30 GOOD questions - asking 2-3 at registration will filter out about 99.9% of the bots and probably several live spammers who don't speak your language.

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

Thanks, I do have custom profile questions (i.e., what's your favorite pizza restaurant) and they are all answered with someting a human would say. So I'm 99.9% certain that these spammers are not bots, that's how they are getting in. But, like I said earlier, I've had about 6 of them get on in the past two days and post Temu.com spam. I added temu and temu.com to my censored words list, so at least their ads now contain "***SPAM***" in place of temu. LOL

You could try using an image in conjunction with verification questions - see Image for Anti-Spam Verification Questions - it's a very simple and very effective solution.
