Hello.
Tell me why the standard settings of group rights, for example for the new "Editor", are set to all privileges for editing your own and other people's messages - as a result, on the forum, a user in this group does not have rights to edit and delete other people's and their own messages.

Is this how it is intended or should the capabilities be expanded only after installing an additional mod?

The standard,  out of the box settings do NOT allow users to have edit permissions for OTHER  people's messages.

That's something that YOU must have changed at some point

Let's say other people's messages are not allowed. OK. But my topic is the first post after a long time - this also cannot be edited, is that how it was intended?

Please show a screenshot of how to set up the group rights settings. So that the group, for example, "Editor" would have the rights to edit their own and other people's messages

Read the manual on permissions.  Thread permission is very clearly documented.

As for the courtesy edit time,  that's a separate setting and unrelated to permissions unless you have moderation permissions which override the edit time limit

I checked it on a local forum that was recently installed - everything works as it should. I assume that my other forum has problems with groups because of conversion.

Thanks

Tell me how to return the default rights settings "only a check mark" ?

Sample ../index.php?action=admin;area=manageboards;sa=board;boardid=1
This is how it should be, as in the screenshot:

Right now on my main forum the group rights settings look like this:

SMF: 2.1.3
Mods: Optimus, Hide Content, Quick Spoiler, Avatars Display Integration, Similar Topics, Simple Colorizer

Illori

disable the ability to deny permissions.

Just to note:
That image you have posted is the permissions to view a single board.
That is not the permissions setting for the permissions of the membergroup across the entire forum.

index.php?action=admin;area=permissions;sa=index
this is where you edit each group's actual permissions for activities on the forum

index.php?action=admin;area=permissions;sa=board
this is where you edit the profiles that can be applied to one or more board and thus change the groups' permissions on the defined boards to be different from the rest of the site

or did you enable the ability to deny access to boards? if so there is a similar setting in the board settings to disable.
