After going to "show new replies to your post," when I click on the link to the reply, it takes me to the beginning of the thread.  I would love to go to the reply message at the bottom of the thread.  Not a big deal, but an extra click, and on a dial up modem connection load time is an issue.  Was it your intention to refresh the memory of the reader about the post string, or is it a safari mac thing, and all other browsers go to the recent post, or is it a user option that I need to set in my user preferences?

click on the "new" icon, instead of the thread link, and it should take you to the most recent post in the thread.

Yes, the "new" icon will take you to the recent post that was posted since your last visit, if you click just the thread link it will talke you to the very first post ;)

Now that's a trick.  Looks like it works at the board level too.  thanks!

Not sure if this is the right area but please bear in mind we have yet to see SM.

In YaBB SE the new posts could be altered but only globally i.e if the admin altered the new posts to be shown to more than the defaut 5 EVERYONE would get the altered number of posts.

What we as moderators needed was a method of viewing ALL new posts while leaving users with their own choice but I dont think it could be done in YaBB so will this be possible in SM please??

Although, I don't really understand what you mean... you can view ALL new posts, without anyone having any settings changed...

I will try and explain a little better then.  In YaBB you can select at the bottom of the page the most recent 10 messages.  This can be altered using a  mod BUT all users have the same then.

In YaBB I never knew a good way of viewing new messages but as you say in Sm this seems to be much better.

Is there an option to mark all as read so only new stuiff gets flagged as new??

thanks again

Yes, there are "mark as read" buttons everywhere ;).
