I run a support forum for repairing office equipment and i was wondering if this is possible......

I remmeber when this forum was the old YABBSE support forum and when you created a new topic, there were required fields that had to be entered that would automatically show up in the top of the new post in bold print. ( i belive the fields were yabbse version nunber, etc etc)

I my board i would like to request Equipment model number, firmware revision, copy count, etc. (in other words when a person posts a problem, i want to force them to enter model number, firware revision, etc., before being able to post the actual problem.) This would ensure the correct info is always included in the post.

Do you guys understand what i mean? I don't want to do anything special with this info, i just want it to show up in the first post.

I searched the forums here but could not find any info or tutorials, forgive me if i missed something.

Thanks in advance,

You would have to edit the correct pages / field in the database so that this information was required.

It certainly should be to hard to achieve.

Someone should be able to come up with the code / a mod which does what you require :D
