In your settings, do you have a setting called "Disable Hostname lookups" checked. Its in Features and Options. (Do a find for it) sorry I cant be more specific, my forum runs 1.1 andit isnt there, but I know it creates a mass slowdown.

ProjectXIII

I disabled it, and it still took forever.

Page creation: Page created in 0.109 seconds with 20 queries

Load time: 33 seconds

I also want to stress that simply browsing the site is fine with IE...it's only when making a post.  Click on the "Post" button, and it's 25-35 seconds before you see the page again.

Could it be because I have it return to the topic after posting, and not to the forum?

QuoteHave you corrected the problem you had with speed?
No, the issue is solvable, but I do not have the permission to apply it from a person that is paying for the server.
It has nothing to do with the browser, page generation time is the only thing that counts, other is just a matter of connection speed.

QuoteIt takes this long whether the page has one or twenty one posts on it.
Try it with fresh IE that is 100% spyware clean. Make a poll, ask your members about that problem, just to check it isn't you.

Still, it would effect page generation time, not time that is spent loading material

Don't think so..

I have this same problem at work, and we have a T1 line there.  Two locations, same problem.

Like I said, I'm on my site a lot while at work.  Lot's of my members are people I work with, and we sit together.  We were all having this problem on multiple machines, all on a T1 line.  Then I have the problem at home also.

I don't know what to say, it works fine with me, and few of my friends that I told to try SMF are more than satisfied...

ProjectXIII

Hmmm...anyone else?

I've now had another member try it also.  She said that with IE, she always gets a 5-6 second delay after posting, but it's almost instant with Firefox.   :(

Dunno.

Guess I'm going to just upgrade to 1.1 Beta 3 and cross my fingers.

Is it this site?

I get:
Page created in 0.076 seconds with 11 queries.

By the way, you have this problem:

Having problems with mod_security?

Either way, pages load almost instantly for me in Internet Explorer.

That's the site, yes.

And again, it loads great.  It's while posting that the problem comes along, not while browsing!  :)

I think I may have narrowed it down to being my computer. (and that IE sucks)

How/where did you find this mod_security error?  I'll try the suggested, but I haven't run into a problem yet.

Anyway, if it's only after posting, which I'm afraid I did miss (sorry), it does sound very much like a server problem.

I think the problem is on my end.

After speaking with others on my site, they have load times of 3-5 seconds sometimes, but never 30 seconds as I do.  I like Firefox though, and posting is almost instant with that.

I'm doing some major virus and spyware sweeping right now.  I've found a virus that poses as csrss.exe and got rid of that, but I'm sure there are more.

I posted about it here

I am getting this problem too with internet explorer.

I have searched all over this forum for a solution as everything is fine and speedy in other browsers.  It is happening to all my users who use IE.  Everytime I try to open a page, or submit a post or a PM or basically tell it to open anything, I get a blank page for at least 10 seconds before it actually displays the page I asked for.  I am timing it now with my watch and it is 30+ seconds to display a page

This only happens in IE

It is really putting members off coming to the site :(
