Another sidebar question ...

Hey =) New to this forum / tool.

I'm working on a forum that I work on designing from the default theme.

And I'm looking for a sidebar mod - but can't find any.

Of course I searched the forum here and also found the tips and tricks Index - which is great, but seems a bit outdated.
I found a page with some codes to create a sidebar - but again, it seems outdated (2012).

Unfortunately my php skills are way too noobish for me to create something on my own.

Again, I would prefer a mod - but if there's nothing to fit current forum-version, any advice to how to do this smartest are appreciated. 

What I would like to see is:

• Latest posts
• Latest threads
• Members online
• Small statistics (threads and posts amounts, newest member, total members)

I'm guessing I'm not the only one missing a sidebar, and I'm a bit surprised it's not an option in the default theme tbh.

If this thread is posted in the wrong section, please just move it (admin) - I'm still trying to get my way around
