I've had a really terrible weekend. Twice I have tried updating, on my localhost machine before I attempt the live site on the server, Joomla to 1.0.10 and then update the SMF from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5a.

The Joomla update went just fine and then I uninstalled the bridge component, the bridge registration component, the SMF_Header_include mambot and the mod_smf_login module. Next I installed the com_smf.zip as a component. All these things appeared to be set up right in the Joomla admin but when I go to check out how things are looking in the site my Joomla home page is now just a blank white screen. It doesn't appear that the config file has changed, the paths all look right.

I'm stumped, where do I need to start looking to get this sorted out?

QuoteIt doesn't appear that the config file has changed, the paths all look right.

Since the config file is no longer used in the 1.1.x bridges, that doesn't make any difference.

Did you reconfigure the bridge after reinstalling?

TheJoe

Yes, I went into the module mod_smf_login and set it up again.

Go to your Joomla admin panel.  Go to the Components Menu.  Go to the SMF Bridge Component.  Click on Edit Config.

You must put the Absolute path to SMF in the config.

When it is correct, click Save.

Thanks Orstio, I very grateful that you have patience with people like me. That did it of course. I'm sorry that I didn't get this point from the information that is already posted with the instructions.
