The website and forum of the La Cosa Nostra EQ2 Guild on Guk.  Portal is Joomla, Forum is SMF.

I run off of godaddy.com shared hosting and can not give the databases access to each other.  So I couldnt bridge the logins.  This is the LAST time I buy hosting from GoDaddy.com.

Im using the nemesis theme on Joomla and the WoW-DK theme modified on the forum.

A few things I would like to get working but do not know how to do,  I would like to make the buttons on top of the forum change dependent on the user group.  For instance, if an admin logs in, its one thing, a global moderator gets a differnet set, and a user a different set, etc, etc...

It could be done with a simple if/else statement I suppose, but I noticed that SMF seems to already have a permission code like this built in.

ie: // Is the user allowed to administrate at all? ([admin])
if ($context['allow_admin'])
echo ($current_action == 'admin' || $context['browser']['is_ie4']) ? '<td class="maintab_active_' . $first . '">&nbsp;</td>' : '' , '
<td valign="top" class="maintab_' , $current_action == 'admin' ? 'active_back' : 'back' , '">
<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=admin">' , $txt[2] , '</a>
</td>' , $current_action == 'admin' ? '<td class="maintab_active_' . $last . '">&nbsp;</td>' : '';

I just do not know what to change the $content variable to read for say a custom membergroup, so that I can give custom buttons.

So why did you name your guild after a criminal group?

And Douglas I recognized the name right away.

Ardenn

The Guild's theme is that of the Mob in EQ2.  Thats why we named it that way.  The guild leader likes the underworld criminal type concept I guess.

La Cosa Nostra = This Thing of Ours

Cosa Nostra, ("Our thing," or "This thing of ours" in the Italian language) is a worldwide alliance of criminals, linked through both familial and conspiratorial ties that is dedicated to pursuing crime and protecting its members. The Cosa Nostra, or LCN (La Cosa Nostra) as it is known by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, consists of different "families" or groups that are generally arranged geographically and engaged in significant and organized racketeering activity. It is also known as the original Mafia, although this term is also used to describe other organized crime groups.
