joomla 1.0.9 and latest bridge: Can't pacht index.php, error

Hi out there

I just updated smf, joomla and the bridge. When I try to patch the index.php file with the bridge settings dialog I get the following:

Failed: /home/path/to/page//index.php file or the parent path is not writeable!

What can I do? Or can I get the patched index.php for joomla 1.0.9 somewhere else?

The bridge supported here requires no "patching" of Joomla's index.php.
