Cannot connect to the MySQL database server with the supplied data.

Hi everybody!
I've still a problem for days. I downloaded latest versions of PHP v5.1.4, MySQL v 5.0.22 and MySQL Administartor v1.1.9 .

I can login with MySQL Admin to database as "root" or any other user I created. But if I try to install SMF over Internet Explorer I get the error

"Cannot connect to the MySQL database server with the supplied data. If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host. Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client"

First I want to use SMF on my on PC, I'm not online. What's wrong? Any help?

your not filling in the infor properly. an example of  local hosted smf board might be

localhost
root
rootpwhere
thenameofthedatabase
smf_ (prefix)


something isnt right with your configuration
