SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC1
Hello,

I am trying to upgrade my forum.

I have a wrapped forum with Mambo 4.5.3h. I just patched Mambo from 4.5.2.3.

the issue I have is that I have heavily modified my forum from its original state. I started with a 247Portal-Blue combined template/theme (I think the theme was by Xenovanis?).

I think I probably have done things is a weird way but here's what I've done so far:

I am developing on a local server. The plan is to upload the whole thing when I am done. I basically used Beyond Compare to compare all of the files in the RC2 upgrade package to my current files and changed things where they needed to be changed and copied over files that I had not altered since installation of beta 4.

So now I suppose I need to run upgrade.php. I take it this file upgrades the forum files and the database? Just for kicks, I tried to start the forum and it says that the database has not been upgraded (run upgrade.php was the advice).

So, should I copy the files that I had to edit to a temp directory, run upgrade.php and then copy them back? I don't want to overwrite these edited files. Now, how about the theme? What needs to change, more or less, to bring a theme up to RC1 compatibility from 1.1 beta 4? Should I compare the style sheets? Is there anything else I need to be concerned with?

Thanks in advance,

The upgrade.php file just upgrades the database.

You should be able to use your modified files after running upgrade.php.

For themes:

Hmm...Oldies...you seem to be in the habit of offering me timely, excellent advice!

All I can say is thanks, your two comments were exactly what I was looking for!
