Can't get recent posts module to work

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ssi_recentposts() in C:\mysite\modules\mod_smfRecentPosts.php on line 23

I've tried with 2 versions of this module... the one I've found on these forums and one from joomlahacks.

I've also tried it on a couple different templates. one template returns the error pasted above, the other template does this

I've tried pasting certain code within the head of both of these templates but they both break.

You are using bridge 1.1.x on Joomla, yes?

Those modules won't work on the forum page, but they should work on any other page.

That's what's so strange about that error... its NOT on the forum page, that's teh home page! :/ Any idesa?

I'm using bridge 1.1.5 on and the latest joomla also.
