Discussbot link gives 404 error

SMF 1.0.7
Joomla 1.0.10
Bridge 3.19a
Discussbot 4.1b5 (4.1Final  notes said it worked with Joomla 1.0.x and the 3.19a bridge but I don't think works with my version of SMF as it spawned a whole page of errors so I defaulted back to 4.1b5 per the Combined Read Me)

I installed the bot (and the nifty button), made the addition to the bottom of my template's index.php defined my default board by name(CCP'd it directly to avoid typos) then published.

Once I click the "Discuss" link, I'm taken to this page:

And get this 404 error "

The characters bolded above are the culprits but I don't know how they got there or how to get rid of them.
I took a look at smf.discussbot.php, found one instance of code that appears to pull my live url from my global settings.

I found two other posts here that referenced the 404  error but neither ended with a solution.

Help? Please?

I have unpublished the discussbot for now but am more than happy to put it back if needed.
