phpBB2 to SMF 1.1RC2

Trying to run the converter I downloaded from here to convert from phpBB2 v2.21 (?) to SMF 1.1RC2 and I get this:

The installation of SMF in the path you specified is not a version this converter can deal with. If it is older than SMF 1.0, you need to upgrade first. If it is newer, you need to use a different converter.

Where do I get a different converter? Or what am I doing wrong?

I installed SMF into the same database as phpBB2.

Use the converters attached to the stickied posts here. The ones in the download section are for the 1.0 line.

Well i had the 2 forums smf and phpbb in diferent directories and different database, now how can  i convert phpbb to smf.

Different direcories doesn't matter, as long as they are on the same server. Make sure the database user for your phpBB install has access to the SMF database and vice versa.

You can't go from phpbb directly to 1.1RC2. It's a two-step process. The phpbb converter only converts to smf 1.0.7. Then you need to upgrade from 1.0.7 to 1.1RC2.

Well, you could do that because the phpbb tables are prefixed with phpbb_ and the smf tables with smf_, but I would create a second database so that I could clear out the first when I'm done ... YMMV
