I don't know if it's something that happens to often but for some reason my host has port 25 for outgoing email changed to 599, and I've beat my head too many times trying to figure out why I could not get SMTP to work in YaBB SE and SMF till I noticed it's hard coded to port 25, is this something seen enough to have an option in the admin modsettings?

I would say that if there is a chance that someone may have to change it for SMF to work then it is justified being a setting. Just my opinion mind!

That's something we're going to see more and more of, so a setting for it would definately be a good idea.  Lots of ISP's have turned stupid and started blocking Port 25 outbound (the claim to "fight spam"), so all the hosting companies are starting to run SMTP on an alternate port to bypass the ISP blocks.  I administer mail servers at work, and I have to set everything up to listen on 2 ports (I use 2525) so employees with idiot ISP's can access and send mail from home.
