We're stuck

Heyas, I am really a total n00b with simplemachine.
I know basics from invisionfree but half a year ago we switched to a siplemachine forum.
A guy made the forum for us and I was a moderater and that options I had no problems with.

Recently I became an admin and I want to change skins but the guy that once made the board is now unreachable, all i needed to do (new boards and sub boards and membergroups etc) where kinda similar to is so there was no problem but now I like to change the skin but am tatally lost how to do it.

This is the one we want, I can see the coding but cant find where to add them, same goes for emoticons.

What version of SMF are you using?  You have to make sure the theme you want is compatible with your version of SMF.

All you do is download the zip or tar.gz file to your computer.  Go to your forum, log in as the admin, and then go to the themes section.  Browse to the file and click install.  That's it.

If you are using any of the 1.1 RC versions, go to the online manual and read all about how SMF works.

Yeh thats what Ive been tryin.
It says Mercury has been installed succesfully, the settings also say it is Mercury but when I go back to the forum its still only the old skin I see... and yes I we have 1.1RC

But what RC version? there are 3 now in fact, and the RC1 is very different from RC2/RC3.

RC2, but found what the problem was, after I installed I needed to switch to it somewhere else, its up now ill try to find out how to add the things on the left like perhaps a shoutbox, fast login, announcements and some add's but Ill experimentate with it
