Trouble with converting from punbb 1.2.11

SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC3
Hi guys,
I've got annoying problem with changing forum engine from punbb 1.2.11 to smf 1.1 rc3.
i have already working forum on punbb with 600users and above 6000post - nothing special.
I've installed smf 1.1rc3 and is working fine, now I would like to convert database from punbb to smf
I download punbb1.2.5 converter that, as I know should convert punbb to smf 1.1rc3
I have entered all values process has stared and there is problem:
Converting...
Recalculating forum statistics... Incomplete.
Not quite done yet!
This conversion has paused to avoid overloading your server, and hence not working properly.
Don't worry though, nothing's wrong - simply click the continue button below to start the converter from where it left off.
and after few attempts Firefox wants me to download convert.php file
what is going on?
how can I perform the process?

ps. my punbb is in /forum
smf temporarlly is in /for

the same database, different prefixes - pun and smf

That's the last step in the conversion, so if it doesn't complete, don't worry about it.

Go to your SMF board.
Click on Administrator
Click Forum Maintenance in the menu on the left
Click on "Recount all totals and statistics"

That will do the same thing that the converter was trying to do, so it should fix any issues with statistics and such.
