PARSE error on user create or register

I get the following err error on user registration and admin user registration

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/mydom/public_html/mysite/forum/Sources/Subs-Post.php on line 837


I have recently migrated from PHPBB2 v 2.0.11.  The PHPBB forum was a test forum using a fresh install of PHPBB and only had 2 users, the admin and a test user.  Not sure if this is the cause or not but other than that the migration was fine, all catagories, forums, users etc migrated fine.

I also get the same error when clicking New Topic on a forum or changing the board news.  I checked the Subs-Post.php at line 837 and it seems to be within the SpellCheck () function.

Have you applied any mods?

Have you tried uploading Subs-Post.php again?

No mods, it is a fresh install.  I tried the upload of Subs_Post.php though and this seems to have fixed it.  Thanks.
