2 smf into 1

I have 2 SMFs that I would turn into only one.

Is there any way to import one forum database into the other one?

Please search the forum for the many topics on this subject.  (try searching under 'merge database' or 'merge forums' for example)  There is currently no script to do this but some people have managed this very complex process manually.

Anyway, I will search a little for manual processing, but I'm scared that this will be too hard for me ^^

someone was working on one but work stopped because of smf 2.0, hopefully they will get back to it some day, but I understand it's quite difficult

Someone suggests (in 2006) to convert everything in phpbb format, using it's merge script, and convert again in smf. But it seems a little "dangerous" for the datas.

I don't read anything about the next version, a merge script will appear with it ?

no sorry, I meant that whoever was working on the merge script had to stop working on that to start working on the latest version of SMF (2.0) so while they are tied up working on that, they won't be working on the merge script.

There are some people who have merged two forums together but you really need to know what you are doing.  If you search the forum you will find some options.  There was one guy who posted his solution which may or may not work for you, but it's quite a lot of manual work.  If I see it again I will post it here for you to look at
