Hide Category

I have tried to find somewhere if we could hide a category or if a mod existed but to no avail. I am thus suggesting that you incorporate a featuresthat permit to hide a category and it's boards.

Is this a simple request or is it complicated?

Of course if someone is aware of a mod out there that does this, let me know.

You hide it based on the permissions.

Yeah, if you dont want a specific Membergroup to be able to view a category. When creating the Membergroup (or Board/s within the category) uncheck the checkboxes and that'll hide the board/s from the Membergroup/s

Thanks That can do for now, but It would be interesting just to have a check mark besides the directory and best of all, it would be great if there could be a calendar button that let's you select the date to start or stop the publishing of a category.

Well I hided all the forums so they don't show but the categories still shoes. Membergroups don't have the permission to see them but they are sill there .

Anyway, I still think, for management purposes, it would be a great idea to have either a Hide button or two calendars where you could set the dates where the category would be on and off. The same options could then be uses for boards as well..

Well the only way to hide a category is to uncheck every boards and child boards.

So as far as an administrator I think there should be an option to hide individual categories. Ideally, and I do say Ideally, don't want to be to pushy, each category should have not only a "display / Hide" button but a calendar on when to display.

This feature could be also be useful for boards and child boards.

I have to say that I have seen this on CMS but never in a forum.
