Ninja Edit:  Problem Solved

If my initial complaint and request for assistance was brash or crude, I oppologize.  I've been struggling with issue after issue for three months and I just want to be finished.  Plus, I'm used to posting in motorsports and technical forums and we're pretty rowdy over there.  Haha. ;D

Thanks everyone for your help.

Explanation of the problem and the fix is in the posts below.

===========================================================

I have the site in Maintenance Mode, as I'm too embarrased for anyone to even see it.  Sorry.  :-[

Honestly, the site is so far from what I want, I'm really thinking about either trying to find someone to do this for me, or I'm gonna just remove it completely from my server.  I've been working on the look of everything (tripping and stumbling through the codes) since January.  Three months later, I'm no closer than when I started.

Trying to do this myself has really been the biggest waste of my time and has been waaaay more dificult than I thought it would be.  I can run my SMF just fine, but Joomla is so confusing, I don't even know where to begin.  And no amount of reading has helped.  I have failed to find anything that breaks it down to the level of someone with ZERO experience with any of the mediums or coding formats involved.  I'm honestly pretty embarrased I'm even admitting to this, as I feel like a complete idiot.

The thing is this...
I know what I want graphically, as I'm very capable in the design department, but I don't know the first thing about coding to even begin to make it happen.  I think I'm going to just scrap this foolish idea.  I'll give myself 48hrs to decide for sure.

First:  No matter how many times you install and uninstall, the computer won't learn what you want.

Is it giving you an error when you attempt to login through the bridge login module?  If so, what error do you get?

inivid™

Haha.  Yeah.  I wish it did.  Web design via telekinesis would be great.   :)

Regarding errors:
Applicable to all accounts.
When logging in with the SMF Bridge, the following error comes up - "You are not authorised to view this resource. You need to login."

Applicable to all accounts, except my Joomla Admin Account.
When logging in with the CB Login, the following error comes up - "Incorrect username or password. Please try again."

===================================================================

For troubleshooting purposes, I've published both Login Modules on my front page.  Also, like stated, I can only log in utilizing my Joomla Admin Account and the CB Login.  So, let me continue to walk you through this...

Once I'm logged in via the CB Login, I am still not logged in to my SMF.  This, from what I've read, is normal, since the CB Login and SMF Login manage usergroups differently.
Now and only now, that I'm logged in via my Joomla Admin Acct. with CB, can I successfully log in via the SMF Bridge.  Not only can I log in to the SMF Bridge, but I can do so using any account I wish.  What's throwing me off is that, upon logging in, my Joomla Admin Account is automatically logged out and the SMF user is logged in to CB.

So here's the simplified example:
Login to CB using Joomla Admin Account
Login completed.  *Still not logged in to SMF Bridge.
Login to SMF Bridge, using "test" account.
Login completed. *Joomla Admin Account is now logged out.  "Test" account now logged in to both SMF Bridge and CB.
NOTE:  I cannot directly log in, via CB, with any account except my Joomla Admin Account.  It is only through the process above, that other users can be logged in to CB.

Perhaps not the most concise explanation, but there ya go.  Any help would be appreciated.

Regarding design, can anyone recommend someone who can design integrated Joomla/SMF sites?  Thanks.

That would indicate that you have made the bridge component viewable to only registered members in Joomla.  It's pretty tough to login to SMF when Joomla prevents the guest who is trying to login from accessing the login script.

Both login modules are present on the front page as stated before.

Also, I just checked the SMF Configuration and there is no option to choose who can see it.  Do I need to "Sync the languages from Joomla to SMF?" (What does that do? There's no Info link explaining it, so I haven't touched it.)  I also checked in the CB Config, Plugin Mngr, and everywhere else I could think to check for this option and didn't find anything.

I'm clueless here.  I understand what you're saying and it makes sense but, from what I see in my config settings, I don't see where this can be fixed.  ???

Haha!  Wow!  I'd checked everywhere except for there.  Thank you!  *slaps forehead*

I had no idea that setting those menu links as such would have that effect.

I want to keep my Gallery and Forum links hidden to those who are not Registered Users.  So, what can I do to accomplish this that won't have the same effect that I was experiencing before?   Concidering that my front end is purely a portal and I honestly don't want ANYTHING displayed to non-users, except for the SMF Login module, could I set the Main Menu module to Registered Users only?  Would that work?  Or would it have an adverse effect?

Kindred

have the forum menu item visible to public, but UNPUBLISHED

then create a second forum item, using Link - URL pointing to the actual forum link identified in the first item...  and set that to regsitered and published.

Thank you.  I have more questions, but this is most likely is not the correct forum for them.  I've posted questions on the Joomla boards before, but I have yet to receive a responce.  Is there a productive venue for "Super" Joomla n00bs, such as myself?

I've PM'd you inivid

How you ask questions on forums can mean a great deal of difference to the response you get  ;)

PM replied.

Thank you everyone.  If anyone has any tips they would like to share, please feel free to PM me.

Yes would be great, but the Menu-item for that second forum item is not highlighted when accessing the Forum.
