Greylisting

Hi!

I'm using SMF 1.1.2 and all users must activate their account through an activation email.
Som users have not recieved their activation email and it seems like their spam protection is the problem..

They use so called "Greylisting" which means that their server automatically rejects all mail the first time it's sent. If the sending server then tries to send it again it will come through.

What can I do to get around this? I send my activation emails via PHP standard. Should I use SMTP? What's the differnce?

Any of you with the same problem?

Never heard of that, before.

If what you say about send ing the e-mail twice is correct, there may just be a way around this. I can't guarantee that it'll work, though.

When you activate a noob, do the usual, selecting "Approve and require activation", then hit your browser's "Back" button and do it, again.

Might just send two...

This is more a problem with their greylisting, but there is a way to work around it.

If they attempt to login without activating, it will provide them with a link to get another email sent by clicking a link.
