Half-life theme is a contribution to a theme contest held at tinyportal.net. It came second place and is now available for those that want to use it.

Its using some of the layout from the Alienation theme and have a changing background-picture that shift on every page load.

That is very sweet.  I love the alternating bg images.

Thanks. :) Its a very "uncommon" style for HL themes in general..but glad you liked it.

Now that's very stylish, Bloc! 8)

While I agree that the changing background images are smart, I must add that the elimination of unnecessary borders and background colours gives it a really clean, uncluttered look and it's also exceptionally legible for a 'light-on-dark' theme.

* Peter Duggan is impressed!

Bloc, that's the best HL theme I've seen.  If I ran a HL forum, this would be my theme of choice.

Great work!

I like this theme a lot.  Is it possible to get this theme modified

1) to have the background photos changed to photography-related photos, like a woman taking a photograph instead of a man holding a shotgun?  Or can assorted photography-related images be added to the folder from which the code pulls the images?

2) to work with an integrated site that uses SMF v1.1.3 with embedded Gallery2

My one-day old site is at http://www.fotobuffs.com

Thanks

I believe there's a folder labeled "img" in the images folder of the theme.  It has all the backgrounds labeled as: left-0.jpg, left-1.jpg, etc.  Just edit the background to your liking, fade it from the top left corner to bottom right with the proper gray value, and replace all images found in the "img" folder.

It sounds complicated, so if you need help, just either post back with the pictures you want as the background, and I can handle the "fading" portion of it for you, along with renaming it.

If you modify it yourself make sure you blend your images with the background color, it will look better that way.
