Every time i post here i get told of for not reading the forums, so i have spent 45 mins going through them and cant find the answer to this, so lets see who tells me off  ;D

When i login or out of the forum from either the mod_smf_login, or the forum header it self, it unwraps the forum. Is this something to do with the community builder, or the way i have the settings?

Many thanks

You did previously have the joomlahacks integration installed, correct?

If you fail to "unpatch" your files before uninstalling that integration, it leaves behind artefacts in the code it modifies.

You will now need to upload clean Joomla and SMF files for your bridge to work correctly.

Oh right, ill pop them on first thing tomorrow, as its midnight here and to be honest I'm sick of this dam site now.

Worst thing is, its a free site for my fiance as she is Greek, and wants a way of bringing the Greek people together in the UK.

Whilst I'm on it, is there any modules you know of that will show the latest posts on the front page, i have looked through the stickys, and didn't find anything.

Did i miss it?

Cheers Orstio

Orstio, your going want to ban me soon :D

I have just spent the past 90 mins going through Google, trying to find out what a Discussbot is, and found from google, mainly links back to this forum lol.

I found this
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=166111
and a few other links.

But i still dont know what the hell a discussbot is. As far as I can make out, it basically converts the threads in a forum into content on a normal Joomla content page, is this correct?

You know i have been a web developer for 10yrs, producing award winning websites mainly with Joomla for the past few years, and im so surprised as i have come across so many problems that i have never seen before in the last few days with this dam Greek site you wont believe it.

Suppose most of them are my fault for being confused between 2 components like an idiot.

The discussbot is a bot that posts a link at the bottom of articles in Mambo/Joomla so that users can discuss the article in the SMF forum.

The SMF discussbot has been around the block, so to speak.  The original discussbot was written by Two Shoes Mambo Factory for SimpleBoard (now Fireboard).  I ported it for use with the SMF bridge, and then it was modified by several other users to add different functionality.

The current discussbot by Chadness can display the forum topic at the bottom of the Joomla article, shows a quick reply text form, and numerous other features.

For an example, check out the bottom of this article:

Ahh right, so its basically an upgraded blog system, allowing you to post a response to content.

Thanks for that, i feel like a fresher here lol

Just out of interest, can i ask why you guys have chose not to place links to the modules and discussbots in the download section, as i cant be the only person looking for those files. And being hidden in a thread  isnt making it easy to find.

Even a link to that post would be great, if it wasnt possible to post the files. You could put a disclaimer to say they are not produced or supported by your self, to stop any hassle.

Just thinking it would free up your time more, rather than having to answer numpties like me asking the same questions over and over.

Thanks for the help though  Orstio, i just need to solve this forum wrap problem now, and it is ready to be made live.

Ian
