Need a New Theme

Hello.  I need a new theme for my site.  I want it to be just like the default theme, with only a change in color.  There is a theme here: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=280364.msg1844998#msg1844998 that I am interested.  It is basically a default theme with a color chnge.  But it is made for 2.0, and I was unable to replicate it for my site, which is 1.1.7.  So I think I need someone to make this theme work on my site.  But I have some questions:

1.  Will this theme work just the same as the default theme, for upgrades or adding mods that are designed for the default theme, or will the change in color make it incompatible with things that are designed for the default theme?
2.  Will I also need a theme for when 2.0 comes out?
