wonder, is there a chance at someone making a mod to easily create an online petition, and easily manage it all within SMF? something user friendly for us newbies....

would be killer if it had a print petition option also...

Well, go indepth as to how you want it to work and all.  Would it be something like, a petition page is made, where all users can "sign" the petition, and it can be printed out?  If not, please give as many details as possible, to help us, help you.

I think this sounds like a great idea.  something with preset areas for the subject and then 'signatures' along with location/addresses or other customizable fields.  also, it could start with the 'sign' page and then could be set to direct only those that signed to view all signatories.  it could maybe be printed out or stats from it summarized and sent somehow.   I would use something like from (http://www.petitiononline.com/create_petition.html [nofollow]) but which resided on my own site.

Im looking for something that admin can create the petition, publish/post it on my forum, users/visitors can sign it online (maybe in a form (text area) box, and save sig command), after sig is saved, take them to view all online signatures, as well as the option of downloading a printable version, that they can take to thier workplace, communities,etc. and get Live Signatures to the petition as well, and send them to my p.o. box.

I am creating a monster, and i wanna be able to use that monster to motivate change, in legislation, in areas its needed, sadly in todays world....it takes a boatload of signatures to get anyones attention. A petition mod, would rock.

something with a wysiwyg editor to create the petition and be able to publish it, something that will collect,and make viewable the signatures of those who choose to sign online, and for those who wish to really get involved, they can download a sign sheets with a condensed reference to the actual online survey ( a short little teaser maybe) the rest of the document be bulleted lines for sigs......

however, if anything, the online petition, being able to create,publish,sign, and view all sigs, would suffice...I can make the document myself, and post in my download repository.

and finally, if ya really wanna make it kik ass, add the ability to bookmark it to sites like delicious,digg,etc.....
