Unwrapped menu issue

When I display my forum unwrapped, it shows all of the features my users are used to. It doesn't however show my sites top menu. I read in other posts that I should reconfigure the index.template.php file to exclude the smf menu. If that menu is disabled, will this automatically show the sites regular menu?
(subquestion) - If this is possible, how do I do this? (Please be aware I'm a complete newbie so if you could include file paths that would be great.)

if you have told your bridge to make SMF unwrapped, why would it show the joomla wrapper?

By selecting unwrapped, you have told your system not to show any part of joomla.

If you want your site header, menu, etc to show up, then you need to select "wrapped"

Ok, now I get it. I still have a problem with three things though:
1) I still haven't been able to login to the site and simultaneously login to the forum. I'm not sure which combo I'm supposed to use. I'm running a sporticus dark theme on the forum, JSMF bridge, and community builder.

2) When I use the wrapped function to display my forum, I lose the links for "show unread messages" and such. I've tried experimenting with different jsmf/smf/cb settings to no avail.

3) Even though I went through the installation process to since users in cb, I'm getting complaints that some users passwords don't work.

If I need to post these issues in different topics, I will move them. I just wanted to get it all out.

Thanks for any help.

you are running the joomlahacks bridge. You will get support for that over on joomlahacks.com

Fair enough. I am more than willing to switch to the smf bridge. Let me try that and I'll post again. Before I do, besides a backup, are there any actions you would recommend for a smooth transition?

Also: (complete newbie question: The downloads section of smf posts SMF 1.1 Mambo 4.6 bridge 1.1 stable. I've never worked with Mambo. I'm assuming this is the bridge I would use for my joomla site.)

The Joomla bridge from SMF (this site) is no longer available.

If you keep using Joomlahack make sure you have the latest patched version from their forum and not the one in downloads.
