Safe to delete old converted phpbb database?

Ok so we are all converted! (Fantastic!) is it now safe to delete the original phpBB database or does that have to remain for it to continue to work?

If the convertion was successful then you can delete the phpbb_ tables from the database.

Yes if you have successfully ported to SMF

When you did the conversion, did you install smf at the same database as phpbb, or installed it at a different database but gave its user full access to the phpbb forums''s database? If i is the first, then delete only the phpbb_ tables and not the whole database as it will result in in deleting the smf_ tables as well.

If it is the second, that you installed smf in another database, then you can safly delete the pphbb database. Does it make any sense?

I am still waiting my conversion to get finish... TICK TICK TICK !!
Is there anyway to make conversion superfast (there is no isssue about server load as its the only website on that server)

Not really. I don't remember if you can turn down the wait time between page loads on the convert script easily.

hmm...
seems reducing counter reduced wait time by 2 second but may be just fancy display.

Though jay suggested me command line use of convert.php ..  I wil try that if my this conversion fails. (running from last 11 hrs I guess).
