Funny thing about it is it is just my site i have friends that have smf forums and i can post fine on their site with IE but not mine. it is hosted at siteburg.com wonder if that has any reason.

MarineSniper

okay at the bottom right of the forum i see this link.. http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/check/referer

when i click it i get this displayed

Target: http://pumpersforum.siteburg.com/forum/index.php?action=manageattachments

Please, validate your XML document first!

Line 56

Column 84

Open quote is expected for attribute "height" associated with an element type "img".

There is also this link http://validator.w3.org/check/referer when i click it i get this displayed...

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpumpersforum.siteburg.com%2Fforum%2Findex.php%3Faction%3Dmanageattachments

Could this be the reason for IE not working properly when i post attachments.

Jerry

no that wouldn't cause the attachments to break :P

It's that stupid banner that siteburg inserts that's causing all your validation errors... Capitalized tags, using single quotes for attributes instead of normal double quotes... I don't see why that would cause your attachments to not work properly in IE, but I would find another host if I were you.

The banner is also being inserted before attachments, which would be why they don't download properly.

But if it works with firefox then why not IE. browsers are browsers correct they are going to post the same way.

Wrong. Most browsers handle certain parts of coding differently. Also many browsers handle CSS very differently, and support different CSS features. IE isn't very good at supporting CSS2, while Firefox is much better.
