I found a thread about this error, but I think it was sorta in the wrong place, so I'm going to start one here.

I'm having this error more and more recently.

Errors I (and my members) have seen (and respective actions) are as follows:

Loading index:
Database Error: MySQL server has gone away
File: /home/oscariao/public_html/Sources/Security.php
Line: 272

Sending a PM:

I'm sending in a support ticket to my host now as well, in accordance to advice seen in the other thread.

Any other ideas??

Thanks all for any help you give!

Any replies from your webhost? Looks like a database issue on their end.

Yeah, I talked to the host. Turns out we were hitting our limit of 25 simultaneous open sql connections, according to them. I'm not 100% sure how this works as far as queries vs sql connections. What I mean is, how often does a query require it's own connection, or... I don't know. I'm in the process of starting to read The PHP5 and MySQL Bible to see if I can gain some understanding, but I was thinking if maybe i could gain some knowledge here.

By the way, greyknight- I CANNOT thank you enough for how much help you have given me recently. I TRULY appreciate what you do for the community.

I think it's a host limitation more than anything. I assume they wont' increase that limit for you?

No problem Pip. Glad to help out ;)
