Hello everyone. Voila, I need to create something on my forum. I do not know if that is possible so I will explain the idea.

i want a board with rules and a board where people can register.

But I want that the "registration" board is open only if people validate the "rules" board.

Do you know what I can add to my  forum so that it works?

Or it could be possible and what i i to do ?

Thx for all your answers

hello, you can have boards where you allow non-members (guests) to view and post and you can have the rest of your boards only available to members, if that is what you want to do?

There is no automated way for your to currently do that with SMF 1.1.*

I would suggest you have the 'registration' board open, and the View Only Boards mod installed to allow you to control access and viewing of boards/section.  Then on registration have them go into a 'holding' membergroup that locks them to only access that 'reg' board (also a mod, default membergroup on registration).

Then once they post or validate the rules, you have them shifted to an alternate or un-restricted membergroup and they can access the whole forum.

In SMF 2.* you can have 'open' groups which can allow people to join that might be able to have them 'activate' the rules and access a membergroup to give them access to the whole rest of forum.

Hi , thx for your answers

@quiteperplexed : I already do this for my forum. But , that's for rules of the forum

In fact ,i have a counterstrike team and i manage it. Somes guys want to come on my team. Ans we have rules. So i want they put a message to see they have read the rules ans after a board is unlock where they can post for join the team.

You can put the 'rules' into the registration process.  They have to agree to that section if you include it, I'm sure they'll read it there as well as anywhere else.

yeah but "the rules" are only for guys who want to join my team. Others don't care about the rule for joining my team :)

so really you want it so that for existing forum members to access a particular board on your forum, they would have to read the rules for that forum board and 'accept' them before they got to enter that particular board?

were you ever able to resolve this?

I can't think of an easy automated way to do this.
