How can I customize buttons/text?

My goal is to be able to customize the buttons/text that say "New Topic", "Reply" and change them to "Leave Comments". Where can I find the file to edit the text?

if it is text on a background, you can edit the text in the languages/*.english.php files (which file depends on which "button")

If it is an actual graphic button, then you can typically find them in images/english

Here's a little start, just go to the theme you want to edit, I'm using the Classic YaBB theme..

Go into the MessageIndex.template.php File of your theme.

Then search for:

// Are they allowed to post new topics?

You should see below that the image code, if you'd like to change it, that's the place. Just remove the <img> code and add plain text if you want text instead of graphics.
