The last few times I've logged on and posted my questions in what I hoped was the appropriate category...

I don't really ever seem to get "instructional" help from the other users and it seems like all the people who could help me out put a message on their profiles that I will be "ignored" if I contact them...

What's up with that?

I want to help someone to help me... and there's always alot of people online here... but the one guy who actually contacted me went on vacation the following day and I never quite got any support or instructional help out of him...

Is there something I'm missing here?

Is there an easy little "how to install a mod even though you're a dummy" demo somewhere???

Is there a nice supportive person who stays up late that I can either hire to do install some things for me, or who can just tell me what I'm looking for and how to do it myself?

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment...

Most of us put that messages because we would rather see the help being posted in a public way where other people will able able to search and use the topic to answer their own questions. Please also remember we are all volunteers here, we don't get paid to do this and spend our own free time here for the project.

I would like to point to you to our Docs Site where we have some tutorials on things such as this. Also don't forget a search to see if you can find what you are looking for.

How to install a mod: http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=402

Alternately, go to the page for a mod you want to install, select the package (if there are multiple packages), then select your version of SMF from the list next to "Manual installation instructions for SMF" and click "Submit".

Thanks folks... I appreciate the links!

It's hard to just find the baby-step beginners stuff on here.
