Webinstall

I can't get webinstall to work.  I tested it on a test forum and it worked perfectly.  I tried it on my real forum and got an error.

I redownloaded and reuploaded it 3 times now both via ftp and via cpanel on two different hosts.

All I get is this error message.

This is all I can get by going to mysite/forum/webinstall.php

verbatim it reads:  myurl/forum/webinstall.php?step=1

Sorry, the path must exist and point to the same place this installer was uploaded to.
Click here to try this step again. 

"click here" does nothing as far as a path it just refreshes the page to select a language, set file permissions and agree to the License 

In this thread there is sort of an answer but he just stops posting.

webinstall doesn't work 100%. Even though it works on your test forum doesn't mean it'll work on your life forum. Have been able to install the forum manually? (without webinstall)

Yes.  Everything works except trying to convert my live forum.  I have tried it all.
