I have finished tweaking my custom theme and now would like to install in my forum but am having some trouble.  When I try and use dreamweaver to upload the images to the image folder in my bmhl (name of my theme) theme (copy of default) it has an error and I can't upload.  Do I have to zip all my files together and then install thru the admin center in my forum?  Thanks

Thats the easiest way to install a theme is through the admin panel. Zip all the files up. Include a theme_info.xml to make it a proper theme. And if you're feeling generous you can put your theme up to share with everyone on the theme site. :) Guidelines are at the top of this board if you'd like to take a look.

I tried zipping all the files I changed from the default folder and I kept getting an error saying unable to load "admin_main_above".  I only changed index.template.php, Board.Index.template.php, style.css and the images in the image folder.  Do I only include those in my zip?  I don't  have a theme_info.xml file in my default folder.  Is that a problem?

Indeed. Bundle the theme files into a .zip archive and Install via the Admin CP -> Themes and Layout.

Documentation will come in handy :)

How did you first create this theme?  You might try to in your AdminCP create a new theme based on the default theme and name it how you want it.  Then via FTP client upload those three edited files to that new folder overriding and added to the existing files.  Then access that new theme via Theme settings.

Now if you run into errors, it's an indication of errors in your modifications to those template files.
