well in smf forums usually userinfo in post pages is upside down

but i have seen in many vb forums that is it on the top of the post

If you are using SMF 2.x you'll be currently limited to the number of themes publicly available to you.
Try this link of the Theme site:

You will need to edit your Display.template.php file to do this and it's not as hard as you think, but will require some effort.  You might be able to find a 1.1.x version and see how they've done it for inspiration.
