Can the SMF be configured to using MS SQL 2000/2005?  I tried using MySQL but is screws up the Cold Fusion configs (known issue with CF and MySQL being installed on the same box)  If I can use MS SQL, how would I go about configuring the SMF?

Thanks

Nathaniel

As far as I know, SMF doesn't support MS SQL.

SMF 1.1.x supports:
MySQL

SMF 2 Beta supports:
MySQL
PostgreSQL
SQLite

You could try using PostgreSQL or SQLlite with SMF 2 Beta, if you can't use MySQL.

Welcome to SMF, techbeck.

While php has an extension for MSSQL nobody has yet written the abstraction files that would allow it to be used with SMF so unfortunately you'll have to use one of the other available database's. PostgreSQL would make the most sense as SQLite isn't recommended for anything but the smallest sites :)
