I have a member that is getting that error...he is the only one getting it and it is on two PC's in his house.
I have walked him through the following:

Flush DNS
Clear Cache (Manually and auto)
turn off firewall/anti-spyware/anti-virus
reboot (multiple times)
tried to hit site through proxy server (same error)
I repaired the database (found 2 errors...improper log off)
ran antispyware/anti-virus software
Power Cycle Router and Modem
Reset Router

The strange thing is this morning I got the same error...Ijust restarted my PC and then had no problems whatsoever.
I have had several people all over the country login with no issues.  Plus, Austraila and London.

This is the craziest issue. 

Any thoughst or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

So only certain people get this error?

One possible reason is that the person in question's ISP has shut out your website for some reason-- or that your server provider has shut access to his ISP.

I thought of that and I have been in contact with my host and their IP is not blocked.  They called SBC and the site is not blocked at their end either.

The strangest thing is all of us was getting the error this morning...but I just rebooted and it cleared up.  I told the others to do it too...but this was the only one that did not work...I tried all those things in the list...I don't think the code is the problem (this is a fresh install of smf).  I am just at a loss as to what this could be.

One other thing is...SOMETIMES they get on...but within a few minutes the error message pops up.

This has been resolved....thank you.

Resolution in case soemone is interested...upon trial and error we found that one of the aco******s was corrupt....so if they tried to log in they would get the error.  Then if they tried to login with another account they would get the same error...unless they cleaned the cache first.  The fix...delete the corrupt account and then create a new one.
