A Suggestion Of Dollar Pleage To ALL Feature Requesters

I've made 3 feature suggestions or requests today.  At least one or all of them is/are not implemented.  These are convenient and/or powerful features to have.

I think we should start a donation matching campaign whereby members pledge donation amounts to encourage the implementation of such features.  If enough people participate, the pledge can grow rather quickly.

It is not good if others do not participate.  So, I'll take the lead and pledge US$100 matching dollars towards the 3 feature suggestions.  By this I mean that I'm prepared to donate up to $100 to the SMF development effort for the 3 features if one or more other members will plede whatever amount they care to on a matching basis.

For example, I pledge $100 matching dollars, then a second person pledges a matching $60 while a third person pledges $80 matching dollars, then we have $100+$60+$40 (of $80),  leaving $40 available matching dollars for subsequent participants.

This financial commitment is also an indication of how seriously important a feature is to those who desire it.

So, I'm ready with my US$100 matching dollar pledge, to be donated to the SMF development team for developing those features.  Anyone wants to second with their matching dollars?  When the pledge amount is high enough, chances are the requesated feature(s) will become reality.

As for what are the features, they are the 3 suggested in the 3 earlier posts I made today, January 28, 2005 in this current forum.  Just search and you'll find them.  I won't repeat them here.   I may add some refinements to those features as they are developed, e.g. ability to sort mailing list by certain fields just before emails are mailed in the newly sorted sequential order.

I think the best way to support the SMF Development is to buy a charter membership :) With a charter membership you get benifits such as quaility support, help coding, etc.

I'll be doing that too.  But it is important I can get the features I need, as I don't wish to learn multiple forum software.  I fear I may have to learn at least 2, Post-Nuke's built in forum as I plan on using Post-Nuke for my CMS, SMF if I can be reasonably sure of it giving me features I need in the near future OR/AND vBulletin.

I'm still doing a bird's eye survey.  Too busy to get into the hands-on yet, as I've other software projects that need attention for several weeks more.

I think SMF has a lot of promise and so I do plan to contribute some money (more than usual) to support it.
