v2.2
SMF 1.0.1
Mambo 1.5.1

Followed the readmes as best I could -- no offense, but they are formatted terribly, and this makes them quite difficult to read. Speaking of that, what in the WORLD is:
Quote2) Upload MOS_SMF.php to your Sources directory.
trying to refer to? There is no "Sources" directory. I stuck a copy in the root of where Mambo is; alas, no result.

Once I install this all and publish it, this large wonder happens on the main page:

My question is, what the world is causing that? It goes away when I uninstall the module/component/whatever Mambo calls them, but it won't otherwise. I'm growing incredibly tired of trying this thing, and I'm going to abandon this "bridge" pretty quick if I don't find a solution. Oddly, the contents of the news posts themselves still show. This "bridge" broke everything else, though.

Apologies if that sounds hostile, but the readme being in broken English (and with bad newlines) is not helping my mood. Thanks for your time~

Drive:\Path\ does work, I just edited it for space.

Where do you have SMF installed?  Check there.

Those errors would be caused by installing SMF and Mambo in separate databases, and not specifying the database names in the bridge config.

Where did you download this?  There should be no broken English....

1) I put it there just now. No dice.
2) Incorrect. They're in the same database, just the standard smf_/mos_ differentiation. Unless this bridge is being whiney about SMF's configuration?
3) Should have been clearer. "English which is incredibly difficult to read due to the incorrectly placed line breaks". The language is more-or-less fine.

New problem:
- Under Mambo's administration, Compoents > SMF Registration returns me to the Admin index of Mambo. Should that not be happening?

Orstio

Is the database username/password for smf and mambo the same as well?

There is nothing to configure for that component.  Therefore there is nothing there.  The next version has a checkbox in it, so that people don't get confused about not having anything to configure.  ;)

Indeed it is.

When you check Global Configuration>Database, what is the value of MySQL Database?

duminas...

Orstio did  a great job of making the bridge...  I admit the readmes are a little hard to follow.
(That's why programmers are not allowed to write documentation)

If you will look at the top of this forum, you will notice a sticky post called SMF <-> Mambo Bridge (Combined Readme), where I have, step by step, walked you through a standard installation.
