Countdown BBC

A modification for SMF 2.1 that adds a [nobbc][countdown][/nnobbc] bbc tag.

• Shows the number of days, hours, and minutes until the specified date
• When the countdown is expired, it shows the text instead.

Usage:

Code Select Expand

[countdown=month,day,year,hour,minute]some text[/countdown]
Example:

[countdown=8,14,2009,13,23]It is time now!![/countdown]
Settings

There are no settings. Install to enable, uninstall to disable.


Limitations

This modification does not include any restrictions; it just adds the BBCode with the associated editor toolbar button. However, it works nicely with BBCode Permissions.

I love the idea of having a countdown feature for events. It's simple but effective. Just to clarify, does the countdown automatically update in real-time, or does it require a page refresh to show the correct time remaining.
