Do you suppose I could submit a "patch" (or equivalent) for this truly trival glitch? I think it would be fun to actually have contributed to the SMF project.

Well this was already fixed, but user submitted patches are always welcomed. Even if we do not use the fix, it does help the developers get pointed in the right direction about the problematic code.
