New Message Button Not Showing Up?

OK i installed the newly downloaded messageindex.template.php - but this has has not had any effect??

Any other ideas?

I am having this same problem.

It will show up (the 'new' button) on occassion, but whenever the pages go over one page (and sometimes even if still one page but this seems to be the main thing) the 'new' button stops showing for people/myself.

EDIT: I have attached my own messageindex as well.

I am using version 1.1.7

BAW - when the new.gif doesn't show up, do they see anything? Text? Is this issue solved or do you still require assistance?
