I think this is one of the reasons you can disable avatars. I do agree on size x size rule though. Why ask people to do somthing when there is an easy solution "diable avatars"? I think it makes "more sense" to use the features of the board.

However, if it is only a few people making this a problem for you then I understand. No one should have a sig pic of 600kb.

I agree that it would be helpful if we could limit signature graphics to have maximums for width and height.

That was actually one of the reasons I visited this forum today.  Hopefully it'll be an option in the future.

If you really want to deal with the problem, you should keep on bringing it up with the Administrator(s) of the site, not the software developers. (Other software manufacturers theoretically have limits, but those are easily bypassed.)

If they will not, and you are interested in the topic of discussion, why not start your own site?  You are Admin, you pay the bills...you make the rules!  (I have disabled avatars on a site of mine, and will check to makes sure images are not allowed in signature lines--I already have a character limit.)

BTW:  I understand your gripe:  I have seen sites with ridiculously large avatars AND gigantic, showy, absolutely obnoxious siggies--and almost everyone having them.  Even if members can set the board to not see them, those same e-billboards are thrown in everyone else's faces.
That cannot be good for public relations.
