I found a few posts about this subject, but none of them gave a working solution..

I have a freshly installed forum residing at
hxxp:www.tamperesaints.fi/forum/index.php [nonactive]
As Admin, when I try to post a new message, I get
QuoteAn Error Has Occurred!
The board you specified doesn't exist

On the Forum, I can open the Welcome message, but when I try to move to Previous message, I get a page saying
QuoteHacking attempt...

Also, on the front page, the link to forums Last Post, takes me to URL:
hxxp:www.tamperesaints.fi/forum/index.php?topic=1.msg2#new [nonactive]
which is giving an SQL Error:
QuoteYou have an error in your SQL syntax near 'msg2' at line 12
If I modify the URL and change the msg2 to 0, so that the URL now points to:
hxxp:www.tamperesaints.fi/forum/index.php?topic=1.0#new [nonactive]
it works.

I have tried to CHMOD various files, without any luck.
I have also tried to edit the tables in the database with phpmyadmin, which works ok, so I think there shouldn't be anything wrong with MySQL, right?
Hopefully someone can help me, cause I have totally run out of ideas. Well, it's 3 AM already, so I think I've also run out of time...

did you made any change in database?
Nope, nothing. I tried it straight away after installation and it didn't work. After this I tried to edit the database values and added a new row in the topics table.

Your best bet at this point is to start over with a clean install of version 1.1.8.  The link to your forum shows version 1.1.2.  :)
