adding html outside of categories

I still need help with this anyone?

I would like to add some HTML outside (above specifically) the first board in my forum. Where do I insert this?
(sort of like where the goggle ads are on this page)

Im assuming its in index.template.php for the skin, maybe line 327 where is says "   // The main content should go here." ??

thanks. i found the file and where to insert it but my inserting the HTML to call the image causes an error.
How should it appear

line 88 below 'each category in categories is made up of:'

i did download the admod but wasnt sure where to upload it to and dont think I really need it since Im using the default template

solsticeweb, is this issue resolved now? If not, where exactly do you want to add the HTML coding to? A screenshot with the area highlighted would be helpful as well
