SMF & Joomla template coding question

I managed to wrap my SMF theme over a Joomla template by adding the following to the joomla template index.php:

At the very top:
Code Select
<?php require("/home/*******/public_html/SSI.php"); ?>
<?php template_header(); ?>

and at the very bottom:
Code Select
<?php template_footer(); ?>

and modified the css files in the Joomla template to make it fit.


My question is,  when visiting the webpage http://www.chevyavalancheclub.com/resources_page/

it doesnt have a title.   Both SMF & Joomla templates have titles but one of the two is blocking it.   If i remove the code from the Joomla template, the title appears but is no longer wrapped by SMF.

Is there another way to this?

Please attach your Joomla! template's index.php so we can better answer your question and get a bit more of a feel for what you're after. ;)

Since the Joomla template is wrapped by SMF, it became titleless.   Not a single page has a page.

Im just wondering if there is another way to show the page title in the web browser.

I also tried adding title tags under the head section but nothing showed :o

Hmm... From the looks of it, the method you are using will likely cause a buttload of errors, as the template_header(); function adds its own <head> element with the DTD, some stylesheets, meta content, and JavaScripts. I would recommend JFusion, but it's only compatible with 1.1.x from the looks of it. The *best thing* to do, really, would be to hardcode the Joomla! <head> content (not the <head> and </head> tags) into the SMF header (not using the Joomla!-specific variables, which will also make it harder to switch themes).

One alternative to cover the main stylesheets would be to add the CSS of Joomla! into SMF's index.css.
