Table width fixed or 100%

I'm just looking for some input about  forum Table width
what do you think,

If a fixed table width:
what is a good general starting point 800?
and what would be a max width? ( no wider then)
as a rule of thumb etc

If Not fixed whats a good general %
100%, 95% or smaller

monitors have become huge these days, I prefer
fixed but then again I'm not a pro at this.

I'm really interested in the boards opinions

this really depends on you... fluidic is good as it changes if you change window size, fixed will cause scroll bars however if you have a banner that x width and that all you want at top then fixed be best
